Based on and inspired by: John 1:5, Genesis 1:1-3 and 2 Corinthians 4:6
In the beginning, God made the heavens and earth,
And darkness hung over the depths.
Then God said, "Let there be light,"
And there was; and it was good.
So let light shine out of darkness,
For Christ is the light of the world.
Yes the light shines in the darkness,
And the darkness has not overcome.
On the first day, Jesus arose from the dead,
And death was led captive away.
Morning broke into the tomb, shadows fled;
Night was no more.
So let light shine out of darkness,
For Christ is the light of the world.
Yes the light shines in the darkness,
And the darkness has not overcome.
On the last day, when earth and heaven have passed,
The Lord shall create them anew.
We shall arise from the dead,
And the Lamb shall be our light.
So let light shine out of darkness,
For Christ is the light of the world.
Yes the light shines in the darkness,
And the darkness has not overcome.
